My journey from Antarctic expedition leader to wedding photographer.

From whales to weddings:

In 2013 I was hired by Animal Planet to travel to Antarctica and film a TV series, while living on a ship for six months. This start to my career would define the following eight years as I became a polar specialist, visiting the Antarctic nearly 30 times and spending the northern summer months working in Iceland, Greenland, Arctic Canada, Svalbard, Norway and the Faroe Islands.

I enjoyed travelling the world and I was privileged enough to see and work on every continent before my 30th birthday. But then I fell in love. Not long after the COVID-19 pandemic I was married, I adopted a dog and moved back home to the Central Coast of NSW.

Settling down gave me a new appreciation for the importance of family and relationships and I decided to turn my lens from glaciers, penguins, polar bears and whales to capturing the excitement, tears, joy and celebration of weddings.

While I occasionally miss the cold sea air and spotting albatross from the bow of the ship, I feel so privileged to have been invited to capture so many couples’ weddings.

I’d be so thrilled to hear from you about your plans for your big day. You can use the button below to reach out.

Whether or not I get the chance to work with you: I wish you all the best for your big day and… as we say on the oceans… fair winds and following seas.
